Bronze Zodiac Heads on Display at Macao Museum
The Bronze Zodiac Heads from the Old Summer Palace—the Ox, Tiger, Monkey, and Pig—are now on exhibit at the Poly MGM Museum in Macao. The museum, which opened on Friday, coincides with Macao's celebration of the 25th anniversary of its return to China on December 20.
Pansy Ho Chiu-King, chairwoman and executive director of MGM China Holdings Limited, highlighted that the museum features more than 200 artifacts spanning from the Tang Dynasty to early modern China. By integrating modern techniques, the museum aims to boost tourism while also supporting Macao’s moderately diversified economic development.
Reflecting on the progress Macao has made over the past 25 years, Ho remarked, "I am truly a witness, a participant, and perhaps even the greatest beneficiary of Macao's development during this time."
She added, "Macao's achievements today are the result of an expanded market, increased confidence, and the steadfast support of our country following our return."
